You are giving a new life to old wood. Your are helping to preserve our natural resources by bypassing virgin woods, and using older wood that comes with a story. As we strive to be more earth friendly, the use of reclaimed wood is becoming increasingly popular.
So where does Eternal Timber source their reclaimed or salvaged wood? We have spent many years in the industry and have developed relationships that put us in contact with those that wish to be rid of their wood. Reclaimed wood comes from deconstructed buildings, wine casks, naturally fallen trees and old, unused timber from mills. By 'claiming' this wood, we are preventing waste in our landfills and even unnecessary incineration.
There is work involved to sort the wood, clean the wood (removing nails, bolts and dirt), and then transport to our warehouse.
The highest quality reclaimed or salvaged timber is dry, either by nature or kiln dried. Once dried, we can then get to work creating the old wood's new purpose. Often we see a natural beauty revealed during the milling process, when then often lets us know what we would like this reclaimed piece to be.
