Did you ever wonder what “balayage” or “ombre” actually mean? Well, here is some hair terminology for you!

Balayage:

Comes from the French word meaning “sweep.” It is the technique used to get an ombre or to paint hair in a sweeping motion to achieve highlights or lowlights.

Ombre:

Comes from the French word “shadow.” It is the style you achieve from a balayage. Ombre is the dark to light gradient effect that is pupular right now, giving a low-maintenance natural look.
