Wasted – Time to start a conversation.
Featuring the documentary film The Clean Bin Project
For June 22rd Event
KELOWNA, BC – Unless Market, one of downtown Kelowna’s newer, funkier retail stores featuring locally-made, environmentally friendly products and refill program and Zero Waste Okanagan are proud to host
Wasted – Time to Start a Conversation on June 22rd at the Kelowna Forum. With a zero waste focus, this event will be anything but ordinary.
Unless Market has joined forces with Zero Waste Okanagan to start a conversation about Waste Conscious Living in the Okanagan. The event will feature the Canadian independent documentary called The Clean Bin Project. The film documents the journey of Grant and Jen as they compete against each other for a year to see who can produce the least amount of garbage.
“We want to start a conversation about the amount of waste we produce on a daily basis. A few simple changes in our daily habits can have a huge impact on the amount of garbage that an individual produces. We want to bring people together to talk about our waste and to have some fun with it” says Sarah Coffey, owner of Unless Market. “The purpose of this event is not to tell everyone that they must live a zero waste lifestyle but rather to share ideas, tips and even frustrations when it comes to trying reduce your garbage footprint.”
This event will be a zero waste event to help showcase how a few simple changes can make a big difference when it comes to the amount of waste we produce. To celebrate, they are encouraging anyone attending the event to bring their own mug. There will be a door prize for the most unique drinking vessel. The only catch is that you have to actually use your mug to drink your drink during the event.
Wasted – Time to start a conversation starts at 7 pm at the Kelowna Forum on June 22rd 2017. Tickets are $10 plus GST and are available at Unless Market, 438 Lawrence Ave. They can also be purchased online at:
