Local Business encourages others to register their business with Google
KELOWNA BC - A local Kelowna store, Unless Market, has learned the hard way the negative impact Google can have on their business. When Unless Market first opened their doors in the fall of 2015, the owner Sarah, never took the time to verify her business with Google. Sarah admits that it was on her list of things to do but she never got around to it.
Now a year and a half later, Unless Market has moved locations and opened their doors only a block and a half away. However, if you Google them – Google tells you they are permanently closed.
Many people have found the new home of Unless Market which is located at 438 Lawrence Ave but Sarah has heard from a number of people how they thought the store had closed down because of Google.
It has taken over two months to get the problem fixed with Google which in today’s world is too long. The process would have been much faster if Unless Market had already been registered with Google. It is the verification process that is the time consuming part of the process warns Sarah. Sarah just wants other businesses to be aware of the negative impact that Google can have and encourages other businesses to take the time to register their business. It is such a simple thing but if you move it can definitely have a negative impact which is the last thing that you want when you move.
Unless Market was founded by Sarah Coffey to support the buy local movement. Her store provides a central location for people to purchase locally made from clothing to cleaning products. Unless Market recently moved locations to allow for the expansion of their refill program which offers a great selection of locally made products in refillable containers.
